Starting the e-campaigns

Hi All,

This is the start of what I hope will be the beginning of the North Warwickshire Liberal Democrats keeping people in our locality informed about our activities and work.

On June 4th, in North Warwickshire we are voting for Local Elections to the County Council and also, for the European Parliament.

Now, I think it'd be helpful for us to intrduce our candidates -

First is me, Kieren Moss - I am standing in Hartshill (which covers Hartshill, Caldecote, Mancetter & Atherstone South)

I am a 21 year old Customer Representative at a local Building Society and Trainee teacher, having taught in a villiage high school for 1 1/2 years. I have always had a keen interest in Local Political affairs (having been a Lib Dem member since I was 14!) .

Having grown up in the area myself, there were no places where young people like myself could go to hang out - you had a few swings at the end of the road, but nothing more than that. I would like to see a youth centre, developed on unused brown belt land so that young people have a place to hang out and chill without having calls from their parents worrying where they are - instead they'd have a safe and secure environment, where they are able to be themselves!

Next is Nathan Sweet, standing in Atherstone (North, Central - which is most of it!).

He is a 20 year old student - who is studying Politics & International Relations at a local university. He has been a town councillor since 2007 - when he was only 18! He has lived in Atherstone all his life. Having seen the town go from stength to strength, he is also aware of the important issues affecting people - such as lack of local youth facilities, poor road surface conditions and anti-social behaviour.

We both are keen to help our local communities - please check out our facebook group, search 'North Warks Lib Dems for WCC' or our e-campaign site at: http://campaigns.libdems.org.uk/northwarkslocal09 .

Cheers & Check back for more blog posts soon!
